How to find and remove reposted photos online
For photographers, artists, models and adult creators: a practical workflow for checking copies of your own pictures, documenting misuse, requesting removal, and protecting privacy. No face recognition can reliably guarantee every result or erase an image from the internet.
Only search images you own or have permission to use. Do not use face-search tools to identify, follow, expose or harass someone else. If a photo is intimate, avoid uploading the full-resolution original to unfamiliar services until you've read their privacy and retention terms.
1. Start with reverse image search
Search a clear, distinctive version of your own photo. Compare multiple independent search tools because their indexed pages and matching methods differ. A missing result does not prove a picture was never copied.
Google Lens
Use the visual search tool to look for visually similar images and pages. Check each result rather than assuming it depicts the same picture.
Open Google LensTinEye
Useful for finding exact or edited copies of the source image; it generally doesn't match different photos of the same person. Its documentation describes how image handling works.

Review the privacy notice, storage and pricing of any additional service. Search engines and face-matching tools are not interchangeable.
Read the Bot Radar service overview2. Search cropped and low-resolution copies
A repost may have a new caption, watermark, color treatment or crop. For your own photo, try a wider and tighter crop as separate searches. Search phrases from original captions and your public creator username as well. Never interpret a visually similar face as proof of a person's identity.
3. Keep evidence without amplifying the copy
- Save the exact webpage URL, image URL, display name of the uploading account and the date/time you found the content.
- Capture screenshots of the page and any attribution or contact details visible publicly.
- Keep a copy of the original work and, when available, files that help establish your authorship or consent boundaries.
- Do not publicly repost intimate material while documenting a complaint. Avoid engaging with uploaders who may retaliate or extort you.
4. Request removal from the host first
Use the website or platform's abuse, privacy or intellectual-property complaint process. Identify the exact content URL, explain that you are the creator or the person depicted as applicable, and state the outcome requested. Copyright and privacy rules differ by location and circumstances. If you are not the copyright owner, you may still have privacy or non-consensual intimate-image reporting routes.
Short template: “I am the creator/person depicted in the content at [exact URL]. I have not authorized this publication. Please review the content under your privacy, consent and applicable rights policies and remove it as appropriate. I can provide supporting details through a secure channel.”
5. If the copy appears in Google results
Removing a search result and removing the source page are different actions. For personal sexual content, especially when shared without permission, Google provides a personal-content removal process. This can affect visibility in Google Search but generally does not delete the image from its original host. Continue reporting to the hosting service as well.
6. Practical prevention for future posts
- Publish preview-sized or watermarked versions when it suits your work; keep high-resolution originals securely.
- Separate public creator contact information from your private personal accounts.
- Audit public galleries, shared drive permissions, cloud backups and social-media account visibility.
- Consider stripping unnecessary location metadata from photos you publish.
- Retain records of license terms, agreements and platform uploads so you know what was actually authorized.
7. Special considerations for adult creators
Consent to appear in a photo or to publish it on one platform is not blanket permission for third parties to repost it everywhere. When reporting non-consensual intimate imagery, prefer dedicated platform abuse channels and protect yourself from people offering to remove content for advance payment. If you feel threatened, preserve evidence and seek relevant local support or legal advice.
8. Where Search by Face fits — and what we have not verified
Search by Face advertises a Telegram-based photo lookup service. We have not independently established its accuracy, pricing, retention practices, removal capability or referral payouts. Before sending images to a bot, read its terms and decide whether sharing the file is worth the privacy tradeoff. This is not a tool for identifying people without their consent.

Review Search by Face on TelegramFAQ
Can a reverse image search find every copy?
No. Indexes omit private groups, password-protected pages and some public material. Cropping and re-encoding can also affect results.
Can a photo-matching result prove who someone is?
No. Lookalikes, altered images and imperfect matches are common reasons to avoid identity claims or harassment.
Does a search takedown remove the original page?
Not necessarily. A search engine can delist results while the hosting site still contains the file. Request deletion from the relevant host separately.
